Overview of the Solicitation
The Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (MTEC) has recently announced its Fiscal Year 2025 Multi-Topic Request for Project Proposals (RPP). This RPP focuses on eleven key Focus Areas to stimulate innovative medical prototype, technological, and knowledge solutions with military relevance. The RPP targets the following focus areas:
- Focus Area 1 – Prophylactic to Prevent Infection in Battlefield Wounds from Complex Traumatic Penetrating Injuries in a Far-Forward, Austere Environment
- Focus Area 2 – Pathogen Agnostic Countermeasures for the Treatment of Sepsis Caused by Wound Infection
- Focus Area 3 – Antivirals for the Prevention and/or Treatment of Endemic and Emerging Infectious Diseases (Non-biothreat Pathogens)
- Focus Area 4 – Prevention of Endemic Diarrheal Diseases
- Focus Area 5 – Knowledge Product Solutions for the Prevention of Infection in Traumatic Penetrating Wounds
- Focus Area 6 – Musculoskeletal Injury
- Focus Area 7 – Quick Sterilant for Stainless Steel Medical Instruments
- Focus Area 8 – Sensory Systems
- Focus Area 9 – Intracranial Pressure Monitor
- Focus Area 10 – Precision Nutrition Development
- Focus Area 11 – Vector-Based Surveillance
Proposed solutions to these Focus Areas may include medical techniques, knowledge products, and materials such as medical devices, drugs, and biologics. By emphasizing these targeted areas, MTEC seeks to solicit and fund a wide range of projects of varying scope and maturity levels.
Key Proposal Information
MTEC intends to host a virtual Proposer’s Conference to provide an administrative overview of the RPP process and to provide more information for the Focus Areas of interest on Thursday, January 9th, 2025 at 11:00 AM ET. Potential Offerors are encouraged to check the MTEC website during the proposal preparation period for more information about the anticipated Proposers Conference or register here.
Proposals for this RPP will take the form of Enhanced White Papers (EWP), along with a Statement of Work and other supporting documents. An EWP template is provided as part of the RPP. Proposals may be reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis, so Offerors are encouraged to submit in advance of the deadline on February 10, 2025 at 12pm EST. Offerors that are recommended for full funding will be invited to submit Stage 2 Supplemental Information and a full Cost Proposal.
