Amendment released for ARPA-H’s THRIVE Initiative
The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), through its Health Science Futures Office, released Amendment No. 1 for the Treating Hereditary Rare diseases with In Vivo precision genetic mEdicines (THRIVE) Innovative Solutions Opening (ISO) (ARPA-H-SOL-25-122) on October 17, 2025. The updates focus on changes to the cost sharing policy, teaming structure, and regulatory facilitation policy by ARPA-H. Additionally, Daria Fedyukina is the new Program Manager for THRIVE. All companies with ideas aligned with THRIVE are encouraged to submit a solution summary.
Key Updates
- Cost Sharing: Previously mandatory for all proposals, cost sharing is now strongly encouraged but not required, allowing greater flexibility for applicants.
- Teaming Structure: The ISO now allows for prime/subawardee arrangements as an alternative to multi-party teaming agreements (MPTA). Previously, MPTAs were required, with the designation of a Program Team Lead (PTL).
- Regulatory Facilitation: A new clause clarifies that ARPA-H is not a regulatory agency. Teams must demonstrate independent regulatory expertise and present complete strategies assuming no reliance on ARPA-H for regulatory facilitation.
Important Dates Remain the Same
Applicants should note the following deadlines, which remain unchanged in this amendment:
- October 24, 2025 – Q&A deadline
- October 31, 2025 (11:59PM ET) – Solution Summaries due
- December 19, 2025 (11:59PM ET) – Full Proposals due
