Covid RFIs and RFPs continue into 2021 by Eric Jia-Sobota

In case you missed it during the holidays, a Request for Information (RFI) was published that may be of interest to you. A link to the RFI is here: (https://sam.gov/content/home). Publication of such a RFI is an indication that a solicitation for white papers and proposals will soon follow. Based on this, it looks like the Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for testing solutions for both mass screening and targeted screening of asymptomatic individuals. We can expect an RFP to be issued based off the RFI responses and will post something here as soon as it comes out.

The RFI seeks information about COVID testing options in the commercial market place that have EUA approval from the FDA. The goal is to quickly identify COVID-19 individuals in the on-station workforce that are asymptomatic. The RFI also specifically asks for descriptions of capacity constraints, existing Federal contracts, and a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimate of pricing. This market research is directed toward commercially available solutions, not research and development.
