Sirena Tran earned her Ph.D. in Microbe-Host Interactions from Dr. Tim Cover’s lab at Vanderbilt University, where her research in microbial pathogenesis led to multiple peer-reviewed publications and recognition for her scientific contributions, including the Best Oral Presentation award at an international conference. Her technical expertise focuses on unraveling the molecular mechanisms of bacterial pathogenesis, with an emphasis on the structure and function of bacterial secretion systems and their roles in host-pathogen interactions.
Beyond her scientific work, Sirena has built a diverse portfolio of experiences. She has worked as a freelance AI training specialist, a volunteer consultant for a biotech startup, and a research analyst in biotech evaluation programs. These roles have allowed her to sharpen her skills in strategic analysis, project management, and presenting complex scientific concepts in a clear and impactful way for varied audiences.
