Jennie Shuman holds a Ph.D. in Microbe-Host Interactions. Her technical background is in the host response to bacterial infections, including the immune response, chronic inflammation, and carcinogenesis. She performed her graduate studies in the laboratory of Dr. Tim Cover at Vanderbilt University. She joined the EverGlade team as a Consultant and specializes in technical writing and science communication.
Jennie’s writing experience includes manuscript generation and editing, government proposal preparation, and translation of primary literature for a laymen audience. During her free time in grad school, she enjoyed facilitating workshops and teaching classes about how scientists can make their cutting-edge discoveries understandable to non-experts. At EverGlade, Jennie has supported proposal development and post-award work for multiple government agencies, including BARDA and ARPA-H.
